In creating sustainable happiness and contentment, we have to look inside ourselves to see what is getting in the way of creating more of those two things.
Being on a spiritual path, can be ambiguous. As we move away from strict doctrine, texts, and religion. We are shifting towards relying on our individual connection with Divine, to show us how to move in the world. In a sense, we are returning to our roots when our relationship with God was not defined for us, but by us.
Practicing listening to ourselves, aligning with our instincts and intuition help strengthen our ability to discern, decide and create inner dependence and trust within ourselves. Our unseen senses are like muscles, they must be used in order to become sharp and strong.
Making peace with ourselves, starts every minute of every day. We are not perfect beings, we make mistakes and we don’t always love ourselves as we should. Every day we can offer a tiny bit of peace and loving-kindness to ourselves. That peace and loving-kindness is transformative and it can heal the wounds inside of us that we have created.
The biggest impact on my career, is finding and working with individuals who excel in areas that are my weakness. In your work life, office politics and power plays can get even the best of us. I’ve found focusing on and embracing other people’s strengths and to not feeling threatened by them gives me more purpose and drive in my job.
